Twiga Cement Limited (Tanzania Portland Cement Public Limited Company – TPC PLC), established in 1966, is the leading cement manufacturer in Tanzania and a proud part of the Heidelberg Materials Group. The company’s operations began in mid-1966 with the production of its first bag of cement at Wazo Hill. Since then, TPC PLC has experienced major transitions: it was nationalized in 1978, privatized in 1998, and today, it is listed on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE).
Heidelberg Cement, through Scancem International DA, owns 69.25% of the company, while the remaining 30.75% is owned by the Tanzanian public. Twiga Cement is renowned for its high-quality products that comply with Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) requirements. Its product line includes six core brands: Twiga Ordinary (42.5N), Twiga Mega (42.5N), Twiga Plus (42.5N), Twiga Extra (32.5R), Twiga Super (32.5N), and Twiga Jenga (MC 22.5X).
