The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is tasked with the development and maintenance of trunk and regional roads across mainland Tanzania. It is also responsible for enforcing Axle Load Control through the use of weighbridge stations.
Vision To establish a reliable, safe, and environmentally sustainable all-weather trunk and regional road network that supports Tanzania’s socio-economic growth. Mission To efficiently and cost-effectively develop, manage, and maintain the trunk and regional road network in a safe and environmentally responsible way. This mission aligns with the Government’s Poverty Reduction Strategy and other national policies, and is carried out by a skilled and motivated workforce.
