We are a reputable and fast-growing construction company specializing in infrastructure development, building construction, and project management services. We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented individual to join our team as a Logistics Officer.
Position Details
- Position: Logistics Officer
- Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
- Employment Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate transportation, delivery, and distribution of construction materials and equipment to project sites.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials.
- Manage suppliers, transporters, and warehouse operations efficiently.
- Track shipments and ensure materials arrive on schedule and in good condition.
- Prepare logistics reports, delivery schedules, and inventory records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transport regulations.
- Coordinate with procurement, finance, and project teams to support smooth operations.
- Optimize transportation routes and logistics costs.
- Handle documentation related to deliveries, dispatch, and stock movements.
- Monitor fuel usage, vehicle maintenance schedules, and fleet performance.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Transport Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in logistics, transport coordination, or supply chain operations.
- Experience in the construction industry is an added advantage.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and logistics software is an added advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Valid driving license is an added advantage.
