The Front Office Manager leads the front desk and guest relations operations, serving as a primary guardian of the resort’s service culture. This role ensures seamless arrival and departure experiences, personalized guest engagement, and effective cross-departmental coordination (Housekeeping, Reservations, F&B) to uphold Relais & Châteaux and Michelin Key standards.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Departmental Leadership & Guest Experience:
    • Lead, mentor, and inspire the Front Office team to deliver warm, discreet, and tailored service.
    • Oversee guest arrivals, check-ins, stays, and departures, ensuring all preferences and special requests are anticipated and fulfilled.
    • Act as the welcoming face of the resort, handling complex guest queries and resolving challenges with grace and professional authority.
  • Operational & Inter-Departmental Coordination:
    • Maintain strong daily alignment with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Spa, and Reservations teams to guarantee seamless guest itineraries.
    • Utilize Property Management Systems (PMS) to track guest histories, room allocations, occupancy, and revenue goals.
    • Establish and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain boutique 5-star quality controls.
Candidate Qualifications & Competencies

Experience & Education:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive management experience in Luxury Front Office or Guest Relations roles within boutique 5-star resorts or high-end luxury hotels.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or professional certification in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related discipline.
  • Destination Knowledge: Prior experience in East Africa or Indian Ocean luxury island destinations is highly advantageous.

Technical & Language Skills:

  • System Knowledge: High proficiency in Property Management Systems (e.g., Opera or equivalent PMS software).
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (written & spoken). Spoken French is a strong advantage; Swahili or additional languages are a plus.
