Facility Coordinator at Kafika House
The Facility Coordinator oversees the daily residential and operational activities of Kafika House’s facility in Arusha, ensuring a safe, organized, and nurturing environment for children receiving pre- and post-operative care and rehabilitation for surgically treatable disabilities (including cleft lip and palate, clubfoot, skeletal fluorosis, burn contractures, and osteomyelitis). Reporting to and working closely with the Management Team, the Facility Coordinator provides leadership across multi-disciplinary operational staff, ensures operational compliance, manages relationships with local stakeholders, and supports organizational budgeting and child protection standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Team Management:
- Direct and supervise day-to-day operations across residential care, social work, housekeeping, kitchen, laundry, and groundskeeping teams.
- Develop staff rosters, activity schedules, and daily operational timetables to maintain high standards of care.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate staff performance while fostering a professional, values-driven workplace culture.
Administrative & Financial Coordination:
- Collaborate with the Programmes Manager on facility budget preparation, expenditure tracking, and cost management.
- Work with local suppliers and service providers to ensure uninterrupted facility supplies and maintenance.
- Monitor facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recommend continuous process improvements.
- Prepare and submit regular operational reports, status updates, and strategic recommendations to executive management.
Stakeholder Engagement & Compliance:
- Enforce strict compliance with Kafika House Child Protection and PSEAH (Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment) policies.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with local government authorities, community partners, and local vendors.
- Coordinate logistics and hospitality for visiting volunteers, donors, and organizational guests
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Sociology, Public Administration, or a related field.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, with a proven track record in facility operations, site management, or health/residential care coordination.
- Experience working with local suppliers, vendors, and community leadership in Tanzania.
