Position: Financial Planner

Job Summary:

Kilombero Sugar Company Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Planner. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely management reports, supporting data-driven decision-making, offering analytical insights, and coordinating budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes to enhance the company’s financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce timely, accurate, and insightful management reports and forecasts.
• Collaborate with budget holders to understand key cost and revenue drivers and incorporate them into accurate forecasts.
• Develop and maintain cost dashboards to monitor expenses and key financial performance indicators (KPIs).
• Participate in monthly review meetings with budget holders and assist in maintaining expenditure within approved budgets.
• Analyze budget vs. actual trends in costs and revenues, and help resolve queries from budget owners.
• Work closely with departments on estimate updates and ensure significant budget variances are analyzed, with corrective actions recommended and implemented where needed.
• Manage day-to-day administrative tasks related to fuel tokens, ensure proper monthly allocation of fuel costs, and prepare accurate fuel consumption and cost reports.
• Raise regular purchase requisitions for major cost categories such as fuel, electricity, cane transport, and plant hire.
• Commit to personal development and continuous learning to support ongoing professional growth.
• Submit accurate and timely month-end journal entries to support effective financial reporting across departments.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or a related field from a recognized institution.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in financial planning or management reporting.
• Progress toward a professional certification (CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and openness to new ideas.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Skilled in report writing and data analysis.
• Strong team player with creativity and innovation in problem-solving.
• Honest, detail-oriented, dependable, and professional in conduct.
• Good decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Terms of Employment: The position is offered on a Fixed-Term Contract basis.
