Position Title: Gardener
Location: Dar es Salaam
Reporting To: Administration Manager

Role Summary:
The gardener is responsible for maintaining the beauty, cleanliness, and overall health of the landscaped areas at both residential and office locations. This role ensures that the grounds reflect the grace of the home and uphold a professional standard at the workplace.

Primary Duties:

Residential Grounds Maintenance

• Care for flower beds, ornamental plants, and shrubs with attention to detail

• Keep outdoor furniture, walkways, and patios tidy and well-maintained

• Support holiday or event decoration by setting up seasonal garden displays

Office Grounds Maintenance

• Maintain office green spaces to reflect a neat and professional image

• Ensure all entryways, paths, and external areas are clean and inviting

• Assist in small landscaping improvements to enhance visual appeal

Tools & Safety

• Use and maintain gardening tools such as mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems

• Safely apply fertilizers and pest control, minimizing disruption to staff or residents

• Follow safety procedures, especially near critical infrastructure

Planning & Reporting

• Suggest seasonal planting plans and recommend landscape improvements

• Contribute to the preparation of budgets for gardening supplies

• Report concerns such as water leaks, plant health issues, or pest problems

Requirements & Competencies

• Hands-on experience in gardening for homes or commercial spaces

• Familiarity with Tanzanian plant species and climate-based landscaping

• Ability to work independently across multiple locations

• Basic skills in horticulture, garden design, and natural plant care

• Trustworthy and respectful, particularly when working in residential areas
