Role Purpose

The ICT Officer II (Information Security) plays a key role in supporting the Principal ICT Cybersecurity & BCP Officer and the Chief Operating Officer in implementing the bank’s IT security strategies. The position involves executing security incident response plans, ensuring the safeguarding of digital resources, and maintaining the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of information systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess events and alerts from the Security Operations Center (SOC) to detect security threats or breaches.
  • Investigate cybersecurity incidents and work closely with the emergency response team on triage, analysis, and mitigation.
  • Identify and apply cybersecurity measures and protocols across the bank.
  • Preserve the security and reliability of organizational IT systems and networks.
  • Ensure compliance with internal cybersecurity policies and industry standards.
  • Support detection, protection, and response capabilities within the organization.
  • Assist in identifying security trends and contribute to proactive defense initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain various cybersecurity reports.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to address vulnerabilities found in systems.
  • Conduct malware analysis and reverse engineering using security tools and sandbox environments.
  • Prepare and submit required regulatory reports related to information security.
  • Carry out other relevant tasks assigned by superiors in the information security unit.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Capacity to thrive in a high-paced work environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities independently or collaboratively.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP), firewalls, routing, and switching.
  • Familiarity with SOC tools and cybersecurity technologies.
  • Experience with operating systems such as Windows, UNIX, and Linux.
  • Knowledge of container platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience in incident response and handling cyber threats.
  • Understanding of web servers, application protocols, and security measures.
  • Scripting skills (Python preferred).
  • Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL) and SQL.
  • Knowledge of encryption, PKI, and secure data handling.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, ECIH, or CompTIA Security+ are an added advantage.
