Position: Maintenance Foreman (Mechanical)
Job Summary:
Kilombero Sugar Company Limited is seeking a qualified and motivated Maintenance Foreman (Mechanical) to lead maintenance teams and ensure optimal plant uptime and equipment performance. The role involves overseeing maintenance activities and upholding high standards of operational excellence, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead maintenance teams to achieve shift, daily, weekly, monthly, and off-crop shutdown targets by organizing and prioritizing tasks in a structured, cost-effective manner to enhance profitability.
- Oversee the implementation of both preventive and reactive maintenance strategies to minimize equipment downtime and control maintenance costs.
- Ensure strict adherence to the company’s iAMP (Integrated Asset Management Program) standards and practices across maintenance teams.
- Supervise work quality to reduce the need for rework and improve equipment reliability.
- Align maintenance activities and schedules with performance targets to ensure reliable operation of all mechanical assets in the assigned area.
- Continuously identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance and introduce systems or processes for improvement.
- Ensure accurate and timely technical and maintenance reporting using SAP S4/HANA, in compliance with company policies.
- Monitor team and equipment performance, addressing any gaps through corrective actions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- At least 3 years of experience in a heavy industrial environment; experience in the sugar industry is an added advantage.
- Proficient in computer applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Swahili and English.
- Self-driven, with demonstrated leadership and motivational skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and supervisory capabilities.
- Innovative thinker and a strong team player.
Terms of Employment:
The successful candidate will be offered a permanent contract.
