Job Overview
Position Title: Production Foreman – Steam & Power Generation (2 Positions)
Job Summary:
We are looking for experienced professionals to oversee and coordinate steam and power generation operations. The ideal candidates will plan and manage daily production to ensure quality and performance goals are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily activities and employee performance on assigned shifts, including scheduling and delegating work to ensure team and company goals are met safely in areas such as boilers, powerhouses, water treatment, and air compressors.
- Collaborate with teams to meet production targets (shift, daily, weekly, and monthly) by prioritizing and planning work efficiently to maximize profitability.
- Partner with Production Leads and the Factory Manager to develop the power plant section’s budget, working closely with the Finance Business Partner, and manage expenditures effectively.
- Track operational performance and support the team in resolving issues and implementing corrective measures within the power plant operations.
- Ensure compliance with equipment setup, operation, and maintenance standards. Verify that logbooks and hourly log sheets are accurately completed and interpreted to maintain desired parameters.
- Offer technical and operational guidance to teams involved in steam and power generation.
- Drive continuous improvement by applying industry best practices and conducting regular equipment inspections.
- Inspect critical machinery to ensure compliance with minimum operational standards.
- Oversee maintenance needs within the factory.
- Collaborate with maintenance and optimization teams to resolve issues and encourage teamwork across departments.
- Adhere to and promote Kilombero Sugar Company Ltd’s policies and procedures, especially those related to Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a heavy industrial setting, with at least 2 years in the sugar industry.
- Proficient in computer applications.
- Strong communication skills in English.
