Purpose of the Role:
The role involves managing and driving the sales strategy focused on group accounts and group-based lending solutions. It also includes forming strategic community partnerships and identifying growth opportunities, especially in rural banking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement strategic sales plans to meet goals for group accounts, deposits, and lending products.
- Lead and support the sales team, including branch staff and Relationship Officers/Managers at HQ, to meet sales targets.
- Promote the bank’s group offerings in both urban and rural areas, highlighting benefits to prospective clients.
- Build strong relationships with community groups, leaders, and stakeholders to enhance brand visibility and trust.
- Work with the Product team to identify and establish collaborations with NGOs and other organizations to expand outreach.
- Collaborate with Marketing to conduct market research, analyze competition, and gather insights for new or improved products.
- In coordination with HR, train the sales force on group banking, sales tactics, and relationship management.
- Monitor and assess team performance using KPIs, offering feedback and coaching for continuous improvement.
- Provide regular reports on sales achievements, market dynamics, and other critical insights to senior management.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills
- In-depth knowledge of banking products
- Effective leadership and relationship management abilities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Excellent communication (verbal and written)
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Team-oriented with strong presentation and reporting skills
- Proficiency in Business Intelligence (BI) tools and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Proven experience in product development and meeting sales objectives
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of banking experience, ideally in group banking or sales
